The Color of Remembering

Oil & Cold Wax on Canvas Board · 8 × 10 in.

The Color of Remembering unfolds like a landscape recalled by the soul rather than seen by the eyes. Luminous passages of aqua, turquoise and jade move through fields of warm cream and muted gold, while delicate traces of lavender and rose emerge like fragments of something once known and almost forgotten.

Layers are revealed, obscured and revealed again. Fine golden lines travel across the surface like threads of memory, connecting areas of quiet transparency with deeper passages of teal and shadow. The painting seems to exist somewhere between solidity and dissolution—as though form itself is remembering how to become light.

There is a tenderness within its complexity. The softer colours offer spaciousness and repose, while the darker depths suggest that remembering is not simply a return to the past, but a descent into those hidden places where experience has been absorbed and transformed.

The Color of Remembering speaks of a recognition that comes without words: the sudden feeling that something is familiar even though we cannot say why. Perhaps what we remember most deeply is not an event or a place, but a quality of being—a beauty, a stillness, a sense of belonging that has always lived quietly within us.
