Quiet Presence
Quiet Presence inhabits that subtle place where stillness becomes something we can almost touch.
Veils of pearl white, misted blue and quiet grey seem to emerge and recede across the surface, while traces of earth, rust and muted warmth remain at the edges like memories of something once more clearly defined. Nothing is entirely revealed. Nothing needs to be.
There is a sense of a horizon, yet it refuses to become a landscape. Instead, the painting hovers between earth and atmosphere, form and dissolution, inviting the eye to rest rather than search for meaning.
The more quietly we meet the painting, the more it seems to offer. Beneath its apparent simplicity are layers of texture, interruption and translucency—the imperfect traces of what has been added, obscured and allowed to remain. These become part of its wabi-sabi character, where beauty arises not from perfection but from presence.
At its heart, Quiet Presence is about the gentle power of simply being. It asks nothing of us. It does not need to announce itself. Like the deeper presence within us, it is already here, waiting beneath the movement of thought.
Perhaps stillness is not something we have to create.
Perhaps it is what remains when we stop disturbing it.
