Between Heaven and Earth
Between Heaven and Earth inhabits the quiet threshold where the tangible begins to dissolve into the unseen. Layers of weathered earth tones—umber, ochre, muted rust and stone—meet luminous passages of ivory, misted blue and softened white, creating a sense of vastness held within an intimate surface.
A dark, broken gesture moves through the composition like a remembered boundary, separating and at the same time joining two realms. Around it, colour appears, disappears and resurfaces through translucent veils and traces of what came before. Nothing is fully defined. Forms hover at the edge of recognition and then recede again.
The painting speaks of that mysterious place between grounding and expansion, matter and spirit, the human and the infinite. Its beauty lies not in resolution but in the space between—the place where opposites no longer need to be reconciled because they are experienced as parts of a single whole.
Between Heaven and Earth invites us to rest for a moment at that threshold and discover that perhaps heaven and earth were never truly separate. Original Oil and Cold Wax painting by Jhadten Jewall 8″x10″ on canvas board $125 unframed
